He is a graduate in Microbiology, a post graduate in Biotechnology, and an executive MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He has more than 7 years of experience in the field of biomedical data curation, literature mining, proteomics database development and project management. He has contributed in the field of biomedical informatics research from the inception of this research area in India. He has headed several projects in the areas of genomics, proteomics and chemoinformatics knowledge management and analysis. He was a part of the development of one of the world’s largest signal transduction database, PathArt. He was also the head of custom curation services for India’s largest CRAMS organization. His core competencies have been in the areas of biomedical data curation and annotation catering to research needs of target identification and validation in the early drug discovery process, manual curation of signal transduction pathways and their cross talk, gene regulatory pathways, regulation of transcription factors and subsequently gene expression profiles in a given physiological/diseased condition, disease specific biomarker database and protein interaction networks. He has also led the biomedical informatics division for our strategic partner, e-Therapeutics plc, Newcastle, UK for the last four years
