Dr. Graham Hughes, a chemist by training, was a co-founder in 1987 of Technomark in the UK. As an acknowledged expert on pharmaceutical outsourcing, with intimate knowledge on all aspects of Clinical Research Organisations, Graham has also participated in corporate finance advisory, being closely involved in more than twenty merger and acquisition deals. During Technomark’s partnership with Lloyds Development Capital, Graham served as the Scientific Investment Director and specialized in early stage bioscience companies. In his industrial career he has worked for ICI (in UK and Belgium) and for Zoecon Corporation (Europe) – a Sandoz subsidiary – at which he was responsible for the technical development of animal health products and agrochemicals, from research through to registration.
Currently, while Board member of Technomark Group USA, Graham also serves as Chairman or a Director of several emerging European life science companies. Graham frequently chairs and speaks at international conferences on drug development and outsourcing and has published in this space as well. He is co author of “Current Strategies and Future Prospects in Pharmaceutical Outsourcing”, co-editor of “Outsourcing in Clinical Drug Development” and chair of the editorial board of “European Pharmaceutical Contractor”. He is also the co-author of the Annual Report on CROs and reports on Outsourcing and Central Laboratories published by BioPharm Knowledge Publishing.
